Applying for council housing
There is a shortage of council housing in Southwark and it is not possible for us to house everyone who joins our register. Those with the most urgent housing needs are given priority.
The housing register has been set up to allocate homes to individuals and families with the greatest needs. These homes could be council housing, housing association or other low cost housing options.
If your circumstances mean you are not considered a priority for housing, it is very unlikely that you will secure a council property.
There are however lots of different housing options available to you. We will help you find the most suitable housing choices to meet your needs. This may include council housing. You should first complete our simple to use online housing options self assessment.
When you have completed this you will be provided with an action plan to print off and keep.
