Southwark Open Space Strategy 2013

 

 

The Open Space Strategy sets out a vision and objectives for the borough and identifies key needs and priorities for the different types of open space. The strategy also sets standards of open space for each type of open space and highlights the key priorities for investment and improvement.

The strategy is accompanied by an evidence base document which sets out how the strategy has been developed based on the local needs and existing provision of open space in Southwark. The supporting documents can also be viewed by following the link.

Sustainable energy studies and strategies

 

Our energy strategies and studies seek to provide a rationale for our energy policies in our adopted and emerging plans, and explore the opportunities for establishing a sustainable energy networks across the borough.

We have studies published on:

  • Old Kent Road Decentralised Energy Strategy (2016)
  • Peckham and Nunhead (2012)

 

 

Strategic Flood Risk Assessment 2008 and Core Strategy Sequential test

 

 

A Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) has been prepared to ensure that flood risk is taken into account and minimised in all new developments. The SFRA sets out the level of flood risk in different areas of the borough. This will help plan for new developments and assist in the determination of planning applications.

We are currently finalising an updated SFRA to be published later in 2016.

 

Energy and carbon reduction strategy 2011

 

The Energy and Carbon Reduction Strategy summarises the situation during 2011 for carbon emissions in Southwark and sets out a series of recommendations as to how the council can reduce its own emissions.

 

 

Southwark Air Quality Improvement Strategy and Action Plan 2012-2017

 

Southwark's air quality strategy and improvement plan describes the council's responsibilities and actions that need to be taken by the council in partnership with residents, businesses, visitors and people who travel through the borough, to improve air quality in Southwark.

Southwark Biodiversity Action Plan 2013-19 and evidence base

 

This action plan outlines how Southwark Council will work with its partners to conserve, enhance and promote biodiversity in the London Borough of Southwark for the benefit of residents, visitors and future generations.

 

 

Southwark Tree Management Strategy 2013

 

The Tree Management strategy is a document that sets out the Council’s vision for the maintenance and management of Southwark’s trees, where Southwark’s trees are located and addresses where there are deficiencies in trees.
