Transport

See below for our evidence base including studies and strategies that have been prepared to support our adopted and emerging transport related planning policies and guidance

Old Kent Road Surface Transport Study 2016

The Old Kent Road Surface Transport Study consists of developing a series of integrated urban design and movement interventions for the Old Kent Road corridor. This study has developed series of corridor-wide and location-specific surface transport interventions at a concept level, informed by the current and future functions of the corridor. This report sets out the findings of the study.

Transport plan 2011

The Southwark Transport Plan identifies how we will improve travel to, within and from the borough. It also sets out our long term goals and transport objectives for the borough, a three year programme of investment and our targets and outcomes. The Southwark Transport Plan is a response to the revised Mayor's Transport Strategy (MTS), the Sub-Regional Transport Plans (SRTPs), Southwark's Sustainable Community Strategy and other relevant policies.

Southwark Cycling Strategy 2015

We want more people cycling in Southwark, and we’re committed to making our streets more attractive and safer to cycle on, with less traffic and large vehicles. In June 2015, we adopted our new Cycling Strategy. This provides details of how we plan to invest in cycling in Southwark. The improvements we will deliver for cycling will make Southwark a better place for all of us.

Southwark Cycle Demand Study 2013

The Cycle Demand Study was commissioned by Southwark Council in 2013 to identify potential cycling demand and corridors of cycle movement for improvements and potential interventions.

Southwark Sustainable Modes of Transport Strategy 2009-2019

The sustainable modes of travel (SMoT) strategy sets out how we aim to help children and young people, including those with special educational needs, to use sustainable modes of transport safely and easily. The strategy has been prepared by the council's transport planning and children's services teams and looks at current patterns of travel and barriers and sets out ways to improve sustainable travel.

Peckham Town Centre Parking Study 2010

The purpose of this study was to review car parking and property servicing provision in and around Peckham town centre and to identify opportunities that exist for a more efficient approach to providing and managing car parking and servicing of businesses.

Rotherhithe Multi-modal Study Development Impact Report

The objective of the study was to identify both short and long-term transport impacts on the Canada Water regeneration area within Rotherhithe during multiple peak travel periods. Developments in the local and adjacent areas as well as major transport proposals in the related vicinity were assessed.
