4. Proof of Age London card

PAL card

For non-Southwark residents and students

Living or studying in London but outside Southwark?

If you're under 25 pubs, clubs, cinemas and shops selling age restricted products will ask you for proof age, so don't risk losing your passport, take your PAL out instead.

Our card is available to applicants aged between 16 and 25 years old. Find out how to apply for your PAL card here.

How to apply for a PAL card

Individual applications are welcome and will cost just £10 To apply you must be;

  • resident in a London Borough and aged between 16 and 25 or;
  • a student aged between 16 and 25 and attending a London borough based school, college or university

To obtain an application form, please contact us stating your;

  • full name
  • address with postcode
  • date of birth
  • email address
  • school, college or university (if applicable)

We will then post an application form for you to complete and return to our card producers with payment by cheque or a postal order.

What's so good about PAL?

As well as being very reasonably priced the PAL card is PASS approved. This means it meets the strict requirements of the Proof of Age Standards Scheme - the UK’s national proof of age accreditation scheme, endorsed by the Home Office, the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI).

Businesses nationwide can therefore have confidence in the card and you should have no problems getting it accepted at venues demanding proof of age. It is also IDscan compatible. If you do experience any issues use the PASS reporting page to log details.

Another bonus is we promise not to sell on your personal data - unlike some other card providers. This means you won't be bombarded with spam emails, unwanted texts or junk mail just because you have our card.

How long before my card arrives?

We aim to process applications as soon as your completed form is returned, however as verification checks are carried out please allow up to two weeks for your card to arrive.

Why can't I apply online or download a form?

We regret we cannot provide a downloadable application form or offer online application facilities due to technical restrictions at our card producers.

Other PASS approved cards

Other PASS approved cards are available. To compare costs and help you decide which best suits your needs check the PASS website.
